I’m following in the footsteps of the lovely Stacia Kelly, author of Phyxe:Goddess of Fire. She introduced me to Six Sentence Sunday; a carousel in which writers post a snippet and then comment on one another’s teaser posts. Below is my first foray into SSS, with an excerpt from my overtired homicide detective (and featuring a view into his love of classic rock). Enjoy!

He took in a deep breath and started picturing the long list of places he would rather be right now. The first image that filled his tired head was one gorgeous medical examiner in the classic “little black dress.” He felt a smile creep at the corners of his mouth. He reached for the radio and brought the music back to life. The Eagles were singing “One of These Nights.”
Ryan nodded, grinning at the blue display of the radio. “One of these nights…very, very soon.”

Ah…I love the Eagles 😉
Welcome to SSS, and great six!
Thanks, Carly. I’m a big Eagles fan, too. You should read “Heaven & Hell: My Time with the Eagles” by Don Felder for a good, behind the scenes look at the band.
Welcome to SSS! Great 6, I love his attitude…
I love Ryan 🙂 I was wondering which six you’d post from the story, interesting selection for the first SSS post! And, his ability to find just the right song for those moments in time.
I love a man who sets the mood with music, and who can look beyond scrubs and blood splatters to see a woman in a little black dress. 😉
Thanks, Silver. Having played in bands for over 20 years, writing Ryan gives me a chance to set the mood with music. Wait till Book Two, when the A.I. gets a hold of his car. 😉
Cool, love urban fantasies. Great setup. Gotta love a man who loves his music.
love and music always go together 🙂
Welcome to Six Sentence Sunday. 🙂
Welcome to Six Sentence Sunday! Hope you stick around–that way I get to read more of your stuff. Look forward to seeing where these 6 go.
Thanks, Karysa. I figured I better start with something tied to the heart. We’ll branch out from here. 🙂
I like a detective who likes music. 🙂
Thanks for checking mine out 🙂
I’m excited to read more of this, so hopefully you keep posting. And The Eagles – nice choice.
I like his creeping smile. Can see it 🙂
