This one is a little early, but I have my reasons. I think this event is going to sell out and I want to make everyone aware of it as far in advance as possible.
I wrote in May about Just Wanna Play, my cover band, performing during the double header baseball games of our local hometown minor league baseball team, the Potomac Nationals. JWP was lucky enough to have our choice of games during this season, and we picked two. The June gig was superhero night, and as a huge comic book guy, that one was near the top of the list. Our next appearance is even higher, and immediately became our must-play gig at Pfitzner stadium this season.
JWP will be back playing the P-Nats vs. the Wilmington Blue Rocks on August 6th. Mark your calendar. There are a TON of promotions running on that night. First of all, the Washington Nationals’ top pitching prospect gets his very own bobblehead doll:

The P-Nats will be honoring the #1 overall Washington Nationals prospect and 2015 Potomac National Lucas Giolito with a bobblehead!
First 1,500 people in attendance get a bobblehead.

Intern Summer Olympics
P-Nats interns will take part in a battery of physical challenges during the week, with one intern being crowned the victor at Closing Ceremonies.

Kids Run the Bases
Kids, stick around after the game for a chance to run the bases like your favorite players. Kids should line up at the first base gate at the conclusion of the game.

Osbourn Park H.S. Night
Osbourn Park H.S is hosting a night at the ballpark! They will be the beneficiary of all fundraising initiatives, including the jersey auction. (Two of us in JWP are OP alumni. We kinda wanted to hook up our old high school, where we started playing music together.)
Finally, the real draw for us to play this particular date. The team will be celebrating the 30th anniversary of the classic flick, Top Gun. You bet your sweet bippy we’ll be playing Danger Zone, plus a few surprises. Come on out. Do a fly by. Put on your Ray Ban aviator shades. “Talk to me, Goose!
Top Gun 30th Anniversary Night

- The Pfitz will be home to a night celebrating the 30th anniversary of the movie Top Gun! The night will include Top Gun themed jerseys and Top Gun content during the game.

Top Gun Jersey Auction
As part of the Top Gun 30th Anniversary celebration, the P-Nats players and coaches will be wearing Top Gun themed jerseys. They will be auctioned off through a silent auction during the game and winners will take home the autographed, game-worn jerseys at the conclusion of the game. All proceeds will go to Osbourn Park H.S.
